Debunking the Scary Myth Behind Traditional Voodoo Clothing

Every fear is fed with ignorance and fun is often fed with knowledge. While looking at the embellished amazing costumes below, you probably won’t be as scared as when the word voodoo is mentioned. Perhaps it is due to second-rate movies, but voodoo is very often associated with black magic rituals and needle-sticking into dolls. However, this is not the truth behind the religion.

Voodoo is recognized as the official religion of Benin and a large part of the population practices it as a belief system. Local residents are celebrating it each year with the wonderful, expensive cloths used for the costumes adorned in colorful pearls, beads and other ornaments, making them a lot of fun and not at all scary.
