Obama gets to see 'Game of Thrones' — and Jon Snow's fate — before the rest of us

The events of the sixth season contain some massive secrets

An early look
It's a good thing President Barack Obama isn't running for re-election in 2016, because he just lost the massive Game of Thrones voter base.

Showrunners David Benioff and Dan Weiss have admitted that the U.S. president will be getting an early look at the upcoming sixth season of the HBO series. Why? Because he asked.

"He's the leader of the free world," Weiss said during HBO's Facebook Live stream at the Game of Thrones premiere. Benioff was similarly defensive about the decision. "When the commander-in-chief says, ‘I want to see advanced episodes,’ what are you gonna do?"

The pair have good reason to be cautious. The events of the sixth season contain some massive secrets — including the fate of a certain Night's Watch Commander.

It's also the first stretch of episodes that fully ventures outside the bounds of George R.R. Martin's Thrones books so far.

The intense curiosity around Season 6 is what led Benioff, Weiss and HBO to bar anyone outside of HBO from seeing a full episode prior to the premiere. Even critics won't be receiving advance copies.

Obama is a special case, which officially establishes him as the most fortunate Game of Thrones fan on the planet. Is it too late in his term to demand a recall?
