If You Have A Long Commute Every Day, You’ll Understand These

When you are stuck on a long commute daily, it is not pleasant at all

Day in day out
If you are lucky to live close to where you work, you will never understand the sheer boredom and discomfort that a long commute makes you endure. No matter what anyone tells you, it is so hard to distract yourself, day in day out. It may seem like you can occupy yourself for a couple of days or even weeks of repetitive long travel, but when you are stuck on a long commute daily, it is not pleasant at all.

You say goodbye to personal space

If you are suffering a long commute by public transport, you know how awkward and frustrating it can be. You have to put up with being in too close proximity to complete strangers. You have to give up your personal space every single day. You have no choice but to observe and tolerate their habits, their smells, their ugly noises and sometimes their rudeness, inconsiderate behavior and even their aggression. Your only chance of survival is to harness the super power of being invisible.

You are frustrated by driving to work

If a long commute means driving for you, then you know there is nothing more soul destroying than being stuck in traffic on a daily basis. Negotiating other drivers and their rude and sometimes dangerous driving will take every ounce of patience and concentration you can muster.

You also have plenty of time to ponder the wear and tear on your car as well as your inevitable contribution to destroying the environment. And it’s expensive too. Your car will need more repairs, you burn through fuel and you undoubtedly have to pay for long term parking.

You feel like you’re wasting your time

The worst thing about a long commute is the suffocating feeling that you are wasting your precious time. There are a million other more enjoyable and productive things you could be doing instead of spending eternity getting from A to B. You could be sleeping, exercising, eating and breathing easily; instead of feeling your blood pressure rising and choking on a cocktail of body odor and flatulence.

You would rather do anything else than bear the daily torture that is a long commute. But you have to do it and you are not alone.
