J.K. Rowling shuts down dark fan theory about Dumbledore

On Thursday, Simon Zerafa tweeted the British author to ask what she thought about a Dumbledore fan theory discussed recently in a YouTube video.

The theory basically argues that Fawkes the Phoenix was actually a Horcrux created by Dumbledore — not through a wish for immortality, but as a way to extricate his feelings of guilt over the death of his sister.

The theory itself — however unlikely the TL;DR version sounds — is well put together, but Rowling's response doesn't leave much room for doubt.
