Madonna will honor Prince with a Billboard Music Awards performance

Madonna will join the ever-growing list of musicians to honor Prince when she takes the stage at the Billboard Music Awards. Billboard reported on Wednesday that "details on her tribute to the late music great remain a closely-guarded secret." (Good luck showing up Beyonce, Madge.) The awards, hosted by Ciara and Ludacris, will air live from Las Vegas on May 22 at 8 p.m.

While Prince and Madonna's friendship was one with highs and lows, the two always seemed to maintain respect for each other. She has remember the Purple One in a few social media posts since his death on April 21 at age 57.

Justin Bieber, Nick Jonas, Fifth Harmony, Britney Spears and more are all slated to perform at the awards.
