Some celebrities like Sharon Stone have testified that it is, managing to escape the claws of death, but still remembering everything that happened. Others haven't seen the light but still had a close call.
1. Leonardo DiCaprio
Leo will do anything for the sake of a movie, but surprisingly, most of these experiences weren't from filming.
He almost got attacked by a shark while diving in South Africa, was on a plane that almost burst into flames, and almost plummeted to his death while skydiving.
On top of those, though, he did almost die for the sake of a movie, almost drowning for one, and getting hypothermia for another.
2. Ellen Page
Ellen Page brushed death while filming for a movie in Portugal. She said the following on the terrifying experience:
“I went for a walk in the morning with the director in this field, and then all of a sudden there were just bulls everywhere — and the bulls started coming at us...and I really, truly thought like this is it; this is how I’m going to die.” So glad she is okay!

Tracy has said that he crossed over to the other side, and then came back, sharing the following:

5. Gerard Butler
During the filming for Chasing Mavericks, Gerard Butler was surfing when he was pulled into a current and dragged along a reef with sharp rocks. He was rescued and taken to a hospital, saying the following on the scary situation:
"This was maybe one of the few times that the reports were not exaggerated. It was a pretty close call. ... [The waves] just took me and I couldn't get up. It was pretty hairy."
6. 50 Cent
Amazingly, 50 Cent survived after someone shot him nine times, point-blank. He was shot in the hand, arm, hips, leg, chest, and face, spending a little over three months in the hospital.
Later on, the rapper took that experience and channeled it towards a good thing: his album Get Rich Or Die Tryin'.
7. Amy Schumer
During high school, Amy Schumer tried surfing and ended up in a nasty accident. Because it was winter, there was only one man on the beach to help her.
"I have a pretty bad scar on my leg from surfing. Forty-one stitches, three layers. I skegged myself. My whole fin went into my leg, and I had to yank it out. I was by myself," she said.
8. Lamar Odom
Odom experienced a near-death overdose in the public eye, after a fresh split with his now-ex-wife Khloé Kardashian. He was in a coma for several days but made a miraculous recovery.

11. George Clooney
On the set of his movie Syriana, George Clooney cracked his head open in the middle of a scene. He considered taking his own life because the pain was so intense.
"I was lying in a hospital bed with an IV in my arm, unable to move, having these headaches where it feels like you're having a stroke, and for a short three-week period, I started to think, 'I may have to do something drastic about this'... but I never thought I'd get there," he said.

Back in 2002, Kanye West was in a bad car accident that wired his jaw shut, breaking it in three places.
Those ailments permanently altered the rapper's face, which is something he is self-conscious about. Yeezus, self-conscious? I can't believe it either!
Open about his battle with addiction, Eminem had a near-fatal overdose on prescription pills in 2007.
He went home and relapsed within one month's time, which made him wake up and realize he had a problem and needed help for it.
