Howard Stern adamantly said he’s “not a Mariachi lover,” but that all changed once the men of Mariachi Nuevo Estillo hit the stage to audition for America’s Got Talent.
The seven-member group had only been together for about seven months before they auditioned for the hit NBC show – but their talent was inimitable, much like the 17-year-old who performed a Jackson 5 classic on X Factor.
The Texas group began playing the traditional folk music from Mexico, but then they left everyone in awe when they added an impressive modern twist. They included Flo Rida’s 2008 hit “Low” and LMFAO’s 2011 smash “Sexy And I Know It” along with some unforgettable dance moves.
“You took us out of Mariachi and created your own thing and made it bigger than just Mariachi and I was loving it,” Stern told them. Howie Mandel was even more thrilled saying, “My whole mission today was to get Howard to buy into Mariachi and then you came out on stage and I think you have completed my mission.”
Heidi Klum and Melanie Brown also agreed with the fellow judges sending Mariachi Nuevo Estillo to the next round with four yeses.
And the group’s response to the judges’ positive reactions will make you love them even more.
