And Marshmallow Laser Feast‘s latest project, In The Eyes Of The Animal allows us to see the world differently by merging technology and nature in a virtual reality experience like we’ve never seen before. The immersive experience that was set up in Grizedale forest in the Lake District in the north of England invites people to see the forest like many other animals do. Using cutting edge technology, forest and animals were captured by the lenses of photographers and the images were then processed to create a panoramic environment. To make the experience even more real, bineural audio tracks were taken, allowing feelings as detailed as the the breath of animals.
“Telling a story from the point of view of an animal in this immersive, 360º way has been made possible by advances in technology. Aerial filming, for example, has traditionally been the preserve of Hollywood blockbusters with budgets big enough for helicopters. But new drone technology means artists can now get a slice of the action too,” said Robin McNicholas, co-founder of Marshmallow Laser Feast.
