Giant Flowers Bloom when Pedestrians stand under them

They are installed as part of an effort to improve the urban space

All four flowers will inflate at once
In the heart of Jerusalem in Israel, there are now Giant flowers that bloom when pedestrians stand under them. They are installed as part of an effort to improve the urban space in the ancient city. The Warde project, as it is called, is a playful and responsive art installation that interacts with the people.

“If a by-passer is looking for a moment of shade during the hot summer days, the flower will inflate and stay open until the person leaves. When the tram is approaching the station – all four flowers will inflate at once and signal the shoppers to hurry if they want to catch the tram. The Urban space suddenly reacts to the people using it.”

The Warde project is a design of the HQ Architects.
