Traditional Carpets turned into Glitched-Out Contemporary Rugs

Words and phrases that can be read and translated to a language we understand

Another level of traditional Azerbaijani carpets
Artist Faig Ahmed takes the art of the traditional Azerbaijani carpets to another level. He does this by distorting the patterns, dimantling their structure in order to build compositions that trick the eye by appearing to melt off the wall. By restructuring the original design, he creates contemporary rugs that look like digital glitches and gradually morphing into a digital mosaic.

Another thing that interests me is pattern,” says Ahmed. “Patterns and ornaments can be found in all cultures, sometimes similar, sometimes very different. I consider them words and phrases that can be read and translated to a language we understand.”

Although we have to agree that the traditional carpets are works of art, these are just an incredible modern art version on them..
