The word “orangutan” is Malay for “person of the forest”, and yet their forest habitats are being destroyed.

Orangutans “are suffering and dying because of the systematic destruction of the rainforest, primarily for palm oil production, particularly in Kalimantan, the Indonesian part of the island of Borneo” says International Animal Rescue’s (IAR) Borneo Orangutan Rescue.

This adorable video shows orangutans going off to pre-school to learn skills they would normally have been taught by their orangutan parents in the wild.
