500 San Francisco Neighbors Create a Dreamlike Glowing Staircase

The power of community projects is amazing, and when people are brought together to beautify a part of their shared space, wonderful results ensue. This glowing picturesque staircase was made as part of the ‘The 16th Avenue Tiled Steps Project‘, a San Francisco community initiative of citizens in love with their neighborhood.

The glorious creation was made possible by the combined effort of over 500 neighbors, who partially placed the colored tiles on the staircase, and partially participated in the tiles handmaking. The mosaic consists of animal, bird and fish name tiles embedded in the structure that make the stairs all vibrant and colored during the day, and all magical and radiant and night.
